Ball State hosts Navy at Scheumann Stadium

Nate Davis completed an outstanding 21-of-24 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns last week.
Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - The Ball State Cardinals will host their second consecutive home matchup when they take on the Navy Midshipmen tonight under the lights at Scheumann Stadium.

Ken Niumatalolo got off to a terrific start, as the new head coach saw his Midshipmen dismantle the Towson Tigers, 41-13. With the win, the Middies are now 84-37-7 all-time in home openers, and that includes a solid 31-19 ledger in home-openers at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

As for the Cardinals, they soared in their season-opener as well, destroying the Northeastern Huskies, 48-14. It was the second season-opening win for the Cardinals in the last three seasons. It only gets harder for Ball State after this matchup, as the team will be on the road for four of its next five matchups.  continue>>

KANSAS: Mark Mangino has built something special in Lawrence. The Jayhawks really came out of nowhere last season to capture the imagination of college football fans everywhere. The team went an unbelievable 12-1 on the year and certainly had its chance to play for a national title. A loss to Missouri prevented that from happening, but the Jayhawks validated an enormously successful season with a win over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.  continue>>
